••• Sushein appears to be closed for good—the sign on the door that had had said it was closed for post-Sandy renovation is gone, as is the furniture. Someone did put googly eyes on the door, though.
••• A sign outside Pompanoosuc Mills says it’ll be remodeling soon.
••• Bubby’s has jumped on the organic, cold-pressed juice trend.
••• It looks like the HSBC on Broadway (below Chambers) is leaving. So the block that was once home to four banks will be down to two.
••• Press release: “State Senator Daniel Squadron announced the launch of a petition in support of year-round East River Ferry service to and from Atlantic Avenue/Pier 6 at the southern end of Brooklyn Bridge Park. […] The NYC Economic Development Corporation recently released a request for proposals for an East River Ferry operator. The petition, accompanied by a letter from all of the elected officials and eleven community groups, urges the EDC to encourage respondents to include year-round service to and from Atlantic Avenue/Pier 6 in their proposals and only award a contract to an operator that includes that service.”

••• A Seaglass carousel update from the Battery Conservancy: “We are expecting delivery of the components of the Shell structure to start arriving in the Park next week!”
••• I just spotted three Academy buses idling on Vestry, and then another on Laight. I went to take a photo of the Laight one, and it drove off as soon as my flash went off.
••• Sabor de Mexico, which has one location on Trinity Place, is opening another outpost on Park Place between Church and Broadway.
