••• From Cosmopolitan Café‘s Craig Bero, who has built a retro penny candy display area to go with his Woolworth Week lunch counter homage at the little café on W. Broadway. “We’ll be ready with our new lunch counter menu this weekend and would like to offer your readers a First-Time Tuesdays deal this Tuesday evening: our classic egg salad sandwich and banana royale ice cream sundae will be at the 1932 prices, that is 25¢ each.” Tip like it’s 2013 though, OK?
••• From East River Ferry: “NY Waterway’s East River Ferry service will begin deploying larger boats earlier this year. Beginning this Saturday, May 4, 399-passenger vessels will operate on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month of May and continue through the summer season. The service will run on a 40-minute frequency starting at 9 a.m. (northbound from Wall St./Pier 11) and ending at 8:37 p.m. (southbound from E. 34th St.).”
