The windows at 393 Greenwich—between Beach and N. Moore, where H&R Block was—were unpapered the other day, and the space looked very boutiquey. (No surprise.) I poked my head in and asked what was coming, to which the workers replied, “Boutique.” Sensing they had the patience for one more question, I asked if the name is Valley—there was a sign by the door—and they said yes. Lo and behold, a Twitter account with one tweet:

We had a brief DM (direct message) conversation. What I learned for now:

1. It’ll be women’s fashion.
2. The opening will be next month, exact date TBD.
3. The owners are the two women copied in the tweet above, @JBrookstein (Jackie Brookstein) and @GoldieGG23 (Kimmy Carton). “My partner lives in Tribeca and I live in Battery Park,” said Jackie. “Local ladies who wanted a local place to shop :)”
4. They clearly have excellent taste.
