••• The kind folks at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center want to give away two ticket to Grammy winner Aaron Neville’s concert on Nov. 15. Let’s do it randomly: Email tribecacitizen@gmail.com with “Aaron Neville” in the subject line to be entered into a drawing.
••• Mini Nosy Neighbor question: “Have you heard an update about Sweetgreen coming to the old Il Mattone space in North Tribeca?” emailed K. “Nothing seems to be going on in that space, so I’m wondering if they’ve abandoned the idea.” A rep says it’s still on, but expect a spring opening.
•• Genevieve points out that “Moonquake” filming around here is actually the Annie remake with Quvenzhané Wallis and Jamie Foxx. Which is lovely, possibly even exciting, but I think it’s bullshit that the Mayor’s Office of Film Etc. allows productions to list false names on shoot notices. In exchange for disrupting our neighborhood, the least that film crews can do is tell us what’s going on.
••• Remember: The NYPD 1st Precinct’s monthly Community Council meeting is Oct. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the station house at Varick and Ericsson. It’s a prime opportunity to ask why the bikers were allowed to run wild over Tribeca.
••• The rep for jeweler Gurhan—opening a store on Franklin—says there’s no date set yet, despite what someone in the showroom told Racked.
