Seen & Heard: Rupture on Hudson Street

••• D. sent in another update on Brookfield Place’s ice rink.

••• Colonnade Group tweeted that its condo conversion at 77 Warren is underway—which got me to looking at the “current projects” on its website. Of note: 174 Duane, on Duane Park, is getting a rooftop addition. (I tweeted back to ask whether construction would ever start at another project, 403 Greenwich, the lot next to Kaffe 1668 North.)

••• From a reader: “An acquaintance who lives at 100 Hudson told me that the water main work in the front of the building caused a pipe to burst in the building, shutting down the elevator for a week. She also said the building’s insurance doesn’t cover the damage because the policy does not cover ‘underground explosions.’ The building will have to sue the city. Do you know anything about this? Also, the crosswalk guy at Franklin and Hudson said there was damage to 110 Hudson.” I don’t know anything about it, other than suing the city sounds like a nightmare. Anyone care to elaborate?
