The presentation that commercial brokers received for the under-renovation Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport fell into my lap, and boy did it hurt while I’m not positive that any of the renderings are new to the public, they’re worth a look. I’m also including the leasing floor plans, just for kicks. Click to enlarge.

Banal to the max. A shopping mall. Already looks dated — so unimaginative and so un-New York. Makes me cringe.
Now we have banal mall on east (south street seaport) and banal mall’s twin on the west side – brookfield place…even the name sounds boring and suburban. Average looking buildings filled with average stores and restaurants, just like every other mall in the US.
could have been so much more interesting/better. Sigh
