Seen & Heard: Inauguration Lockdown

38NYC••• Looks like there’s a big young-person New Year’s Eve party planned for 353 Broadway tonight.

••• In Summerland, Calif., yesterday, Adam was wearing his Tribeca Citizen shirt at a Pilates studio when he met a woman who works at Olivier Cheng Catering on Vestry. If you have a TC shirt, the magic could happen to you, too.

••• From Whole Foods Tribeca: “Our store hours for New Year’s Eve are from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on New Year’s Day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.”

••• The City Hall area is in lockdown for the mayoral inauguration (and Clintonian blessing). The details:

STREET CLOSURES
Chambers Street between Broadway and Centre Street will be CLOSED to traffic and parking from 4:00 p.m. on December 31, 2013 until 3:00 a.m. on January 2, 2014.

Broadway between Worth and Vesey Streets will be CLOSED to traffic from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on January 1, 2014.

Park Row between Broadway and Spruce Street/Brooklyn Bridge will be CLOSED to traffic from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on January 1, 2014.

PARKING RESTRICTIONS
The following streets will not have access to parking:

• Park Place, Murray and Warren Streets between Broadway and Church Street
• Chambers Street between Broadway and Centre Street
• Broadway between Reade and Vesey Streets
• Park Row/Centre Street between Broadway and Reade Street
• Spruce Street between Nassau and Williams Street

IMPORTANT NOTES:
To cross Broadway, pedestrians will be directed north of Chambers Street and south of Vesey Street.
• Use public transportation whenever possible to stations outside of the event area.

No vehicles will be allowed on all closed streets, including official permit parking, and all cars parked illegally will be towed. If you have further questions, please call 311 or visit www.nyc.gov.” I included that last line just for laughs.
