Know where this was shot? Say so in the comments. And remember: You can see previous “Where in Tribeca…?” photos at pinterest.com/tribecacitizen/where-in-tribeca/ (just click on each photo twice to see the answer).
UPDATE: Want a hint? Whether the taxi sign is actually in Tribeca depends on whether you’re the developer of the nearby buildings….
Update: Dan was so close he was practically right. It’s on Chambers just east of River Terrace, at the Tribeca Park building (and across from the Tribeca Pointe building).
I don’t know but it reminds me of the sign outside of FIKA.
Tribeca Grand Hotel
Logical guess, but nope.
F. Illi Ponte?
Actually, I take that back. Now that I’m thinking about it, Ponte’s taxi light is different. And it’s definitely not the one across the street from there on “Truffles”. That one is vertically oriented. I thought I knew the taxi lights around here. But no…
Hallmark on North End Ave?
…but no cigar
Isn’t this 400 Chambers and if so, is that considered Tribeca proper?
Yes and no. But from the start this site has included this on the About page:
What is Tribeca, anyway?
My definition of Tribeca is broad, because I’m as interested in what’s going a few blocks north of Canal, or east of Broadway, or in Battery Park City, as I am about what’s happening at West Broadway and Franklin. In essence, I’m defining Tribeca as anywhere I can persuade my partner, Adam, to walk for dinner. And I’m not spelling it TriBeCa because typing is hard enough as it is.
