••• Has this winter been hard on our sidewalks or what?
••• Press release: “Public Art Fund announces Danh Vo: We the People, a major dual-site exhibition inspired by the Statue of Liberty. We the People is a life-size copper replica of the statue in over 250 individual parts fabricated over the course of three years using the original techniques and materials. Vo does not stipulate how many of the components should be shown together and refers to each presentation as a ‘detail’ of the entire project. However, Public Art Fund’s exhibition featuring more than 50 pieces in Lower Manhattan’s City Hall Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park represents the largest public presentation of We the People to date. Danh Vo: We the People will be on view May 17–December 5, 2014 at City Hall Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 3 Greenway Terrace.” Is that an ear in the photo? Makes me think of Mr. Potato Head pieces scattered all over a toddler’s floor….
••• I can’t tell if this is a hail mary or something I should be excited about: A Saffron Thread on Chambers has posted a new “Indian Chinese menu” in its window. If only Midtown Lunch were still covering downtown!
••• The retail part of Brooklyn Robot Foundry’s Tribeca outpost opens tomorrow, with weekend classes to follow soon after. (Full report next week.) Also: Summer signups are already underway, so if you know your little engineer is into it, you might not want to dawdle.
••• Juice Press tweeted that it’s hiring for the Tribeca location (Greenwich and Laight), so maybe it’ll open sooner rather than later.
••• On Sunday, March 16, the New York Road Runners Half Marathon will shut down much of Lower Manhattan. See below for street closures.
