Seen & Heard: Marc Forgione’s Cookbook

••• The Dusty Rebel visited Tribeca artist Robert Janz‘s studio, in advance of his show at Folioleaf, a Dumbo gallery opened by Todd Masters, formerly of Masters & Pelavin on Jay. “I asked Janz if he always draws on the back of his work and he said, ‘Anyone can write my name.'”

••• Marc Forgione’s cookbook comes out today. I don’t know when I’ll get around to cooking from it, but I will! I did thoroughly enjoy reading the introduction—it’s the roller-coaster tale of the restaurant’s beginnings—and any fan of his cooking should check out the book. Publisher’s Weekly gave it a starred review.

••• Press release: “On Saturday, May 10, the Neo-Political Cowgirls and their founder, Kate Mueth will be hosting a self-esteem dance building workshop for young girls at the Church Street School for Music & Art.

••• Opening June 3 at Taymour Grahne Gallery: Thin Skin: Six Artists from Beirut. Below: Ayman Baalbaki’s “Cedar 3.”
