Seen & Heard: Savor Spa Is Scouting Locations

••• “Big announcement: Savor Spa is opening in Tribeca soon!” Or so tweeted the West Village’s Savor Spa—a sister company to Om Aroma & Co.—last week. I called to ask where, and they said the owner was checking out three locations: “We’re waiting to find out and finalizing everything. But it’s for sure going to happen in the next couple months.” So I waited a week and called again, at which point I was told to email, but I haven’t heard back. If you know where it’s happening, do share it.

vanilla baguette at Arcade Bakery••• Arcade Bakery is looking like it’ll open on Monday—that’s the pretty new French bakery in the Church Street entrance at 40 Worth. I stopped by the other day, and Roger Gural gave me the most delicious wheat bread and “vanilla baguette”—I ate like half of the latter on the way home.

••• From Church Street School for Music and Art: “This Sunday, May 18, is our third annual Family Fundraising Event! Musical performances by CSS faculty and students, life-size collaborative art projects, raffles, face painting, tattoos and more!” Ticket info here.

••• Bâtard put up signage. Might be time for the Myriad Restaurant Group to take Corton off its website….

••• Remember:  Taste of Tribeca is this Saturday! Buy your tickets now. Also, Keri from Maslow 6 reminds me that local wine stores tend to do open-house tastings that day. “We will be pouring French red, white ,and bubbly between 1:30-4:00. Great picnic wines!”

••• The Butterfly is selling lunchboxes to go: your choice of three sandwiches (roast beef, turkey, or egg salad), with small green salad and homemade potato chips ($15).

••• Kaffe 1668 North is now on Seamless (no espresso drinks, though).

••• The Greenwich Street Tavern is hosting stand-up comedy this Saturday night (9:30 to 11:30). Its presented by Tribeca Soup Kitchen Productions, which is not the most tasteful name.

••• The kiosk at 99 Chambers has closed. I always hope something funky will open in those rare, tiny spaces—like Mmuseumm or Front Art Space.
