From the New York Times: “Floyd Cardoz, formerly of North End Grill, will be the chef and a partner at White Street in Tribeca, a restaurant set to open by the fall. His food will be American with global touches.” That’s the former Churrascaria Tribeca space at 5 White Street/221 W. Broadway (a sign on the door says what carriers to do with mail for White Street Restaurant) taken over by media dudes Dan Abrams and Dave Zinczenko.
Is it too much to hope for the return of the thrice-spiced French fries that used to be at North End Grill?

The thrice-fried fries are still available at North End Grill, they’re just not on the menu.
So they just want to make you specifically try to say “thrice-spiced fries”?
From http://www.newyorker.com/arts/reviews/tables/2012/04/23/120423gota_GOAT_tables_lester : “As wrong as it seems to devour an entire bowl of thrice-fried spiced fries mere steps from the Irish potato-famine memorial, the success of this simple dish is a reminder that North End Grill is all about the classics, executed with flair.”
I knew we were missing a part of the tongue-twister…. “Thrice-fried spiced fries, thrice-fried spiced fries, thrice-spied friced spies….”
