••• Praise DOT! N Moore is being cobblestoned.
••• “And the walls come down at Greenwich/Chambers,” tweeted @albertclee. “TD Bank opens Oct 11.”
••• Opening Oct. 7 at Hal Bromm Gallery: “Pop Up features the work of seven artist designers: Bennett Bean, Vivian Beer, David Ellsworth, Donna Gorman, Peter Harrison, Andrea Mihalik, and Elizabeth Rand working in the worlds of textile, furniture, object and carpet design.”
••• Someone out there knows what’s happening in the old Baker space at Hudson and Beach (129 Hudson); serious work is happening at a furious pace. Let’s hear it: tribecacitizen@gmail.com, 917-209-6473. UPDATE: Just heard that it’ll be a school (part of a chain). Now we need to know which one…. UPDATE #2: Matt points out that it’s a Bright Horizons preschool. Thanks, guys!
••• A sign on the door of the Authentic Pre-Owned store on W. Broadway (next to Boomerang Toys) says the store is “closed until further notice.” Also, it used to be called Add Accessories, and now it’s not? Both names show up on the website…? I tried calling the Soho store and got hung up on, and then I tried again, and I got a fax tone. I don’t try three times.
••• The Colonnade Group tweeted that “the first visible step” (scaffolding) of development of 403 Greenwich (next to Kaffe 1668 North) has happened. Rendering of final building here, assuming it’s still the same.
••• “St. George’s Tavern on Washington street opened today,” emailed a reader. It’s at 103 Washington, and the website promises “authentic western food.”
••• From CB1: “Beginning the week of October 13, The Port Authority of NY & NJ, World Trade Center Construction will be closing off the east sidewalk of Greenwich Street (between Cedar and Liberty), for bollard installation and new sidewalk installation. Pedestrians will be directed across Greenwich Street to the west side. This project is estimated to be complete by November 30, 2014.”

Erik,
Hope your travels are going well.
Thanks for mentioning the Pop Up opening!
The show has been extended to November 1st so maybe you’ll be back in time to see it.
Do you know what’s planned for the long-stalled hotel expansion north of the Cosmopolitan Hotel? While it was announced long ago that the structure wouldn’t be demolished after all I missed any word on new use etc.
It seems at least five years of scaffolding there….
Best
Hal
I was told that the developers of the old Mary Ann’s space are fighting with the owners of 111 Reade, aka The Listing Tower of Tribeca. The lean has become significant enough that the DOB is requiring repairs and the instability is impacting construction.
