Square Diner’s New Sign
Square Diner server: You want to sit or order to go?
Me: Actually, I was just wondering what happened to the sign.
Server: What do you mean?
Me: There’s a new one.
Server: Do you like it?
Me: Well, not as much as the old one….
Server: The old one didn’t work anymore.
Me: It didn’t light up?
Server: Yep. But he kept the old one downstairs.
Me: That’s good, I guess.
Server: [Shrugs.]
Me: Change is so hard.
It was one of those signs I loved without knowing how much I loved it—which is why I never took a photo, I guess. Here’s one from @benofonte.

Seems that Square Diner should have a square logo, not round. I’m just happy they’re still there, new sign and all.
Seems that all they did was put a new panel in the old sign frame? Which would have nothing to do with it lighting up.
it is weird that the logo is a circle. I also liked the old sign better.
It’s weirder that everyone cares about the shape of a frickin’ sign.

I am sorry to see the sign go. It’s like when Rose, the waitress, left. But it’s great to see the place still there.
