••• A Brookfield Place update from the reader who goes by Hudson River: “They are gradually opening up some of the passages, and today the entrance lobby at South End and Liberty has been uncovered, although they’re not letting people in yet. It connects to Hudson Eats on the second floor. One of the guards said tomorrow, but they’ve been wrong on other predictions. Northern Tiger [in Hudson Eats] is still not open. I got a peek into Le District this evening and it’s nowhere near yet. Nothing new on the retail front except a sign for Omega watches on the south side of the Winter Garden.”
••• A reader tip about off-menu options at Gigino: “You can order eight meatballs in tomato sauce for just under $20 and homemade vodka sauce for around $10 a pint.”
••• From Megan Brosterman: “I’m a Duane Street resident and the co-founder of Victoria Road, a start-up ethical fashion business that’s seeking to support small businesses in emerging economies by bridging the gap between what’s ethical and what’s stylish. We are having another trunk show on Thursday, March 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 157 Duane, Unit 2. The trunk show will feature women’s and children’s apparel, jewelry, handbags, and home accessories. ”
••• From Tatjana Rankovich: “I’m a pianist and an artistic director at Music & More—a new concert series that uses the spectacular Granite Room at City Hall Restaurant as its venue. Our concerts take place once a month for now, but I am hoping for more in the future.” The first one, “Harbingers of Spring” (with a program of Beethoven and Brahms), is March 17.
