The event, Poetry in Motion: The Poet Is In, celebrates National Poetry Month with more than a score of poets writing poems on the spot for anyone who wants one. The concept was inspired by the booth where Lucy van Pelt from the Peanuts comic strip gave advice.” Um, wasn’t she famous for giving bad advice? “Among the more than 20 poets who will write poems will be New York State Poet Laureate Marie Howe, Pulitzer Prize-winner Sharon Olds, and Bob Holman, founder of the Bowery Poetry Club. All poets will be accompanied by musicians from the MTA’s Music Under New York program, who will perform throughout the day-long event.”

••• Starting May 18 from Arts Brookfield at the Winter Garden and Zuccotti Park: “New plays by Craig Lucas, Will Eno, and Lynn Nottage will have their world premiere on May 18 inside a mobile 4-by-8-foot theatre where one actor will perform one short play for just one audience member at a time.” What, no revival of No Exit? “The original plays comprise I’m Not the Stranger You Think I Am, the latest production from Theatre for One, the acclaimed one-on-one theatre company founded by its Artistic Director Christine Jones, the director of the hit immersive extravaganza Queen of the Night and the Tony Award-winning set designer of American Idiot and Spring Awakening. I’m Not the Stranger You Think I Am will be performed for free in three public venues throughout Manhattan from May 18 – June 6. At each performance audience members will line up to take a turn experiencing [for free] one of the seven short plays, which will be performed by one of six different actors.”
