Tribeca Is Getting Another Swedish Children’s Store

108 Reade LivlyLast month, a reader discovered that Gill & Lagodich‘s former space on Reade would be another children’s clothing store. (It’s right next door to Jacadi’s new shop.) Now we know which one: “Livly, a high-end line of children’s clothing based in Sweden,” says Crain’s. “It will be the brand’s first store and flagship in the U.S.” (I had heard it would be a Swedish brand called Living, which proved ungoogleable, so I never mentioned it.) LIvly has four other stores—two in Stockholm, one in St. Petersburg, and one in Hong Kong.

From the brand’s website:

Livly was founded by Lisa Carrol in 2011. After her twin girls, Liv and Lilly, were born premature, Lisa went on a mission to find the softest cotton in the world: Pima Cotton. She designed a collection of layette wear, and 3 years later, Livly opened its doors in Stockholm, Sweden. The collection quickly grew and she could finally do what she had  always dreamed of: bringing children into a dreamland of comfortable clothes with style. Lisa, who grew up in a family of designers and seamstresses, quickly found her niche style of prints, colors and shapes. Being inspired by the royal theatre in Stockholm where she spent much of her youth, esthetic came to play a big part in her lively designs.

More when it opens, of course. Here are a bunch of images from Livly on Instagram.
