Seen & Heard: More of the WTC PATH Station Is About to Open

••• A new chunk of the World Trade Center PATH station looks ready to open. Thanks to the reader who sent this pic in.

WTC PATH station••• Church Street Tavern is home to an omakase Sushi Ko pop-up at lunch. Text or call 917-734-5857 for a reservation.

••• Coming up at City Winery: The Wainwright Sisters (Nov. 7) and “A John Waters Christmas: Holier & Dirtier” (Dec. 5). You might consider this video a litmus test for whether the John Waters event is for you. Do not watch it if you are easily offended! Also, it’s NSFW!

••• Filming Monday in northwest Tribeca: a commercial for the Chevy Spark. Someone recently pointed out to me that one major downside of living on a cobblestoned street is that higher likelihood of film shoots finding it desirable. (UPDATE: Also Sunday in the W. Broadway/Beach area.)

••• From the Children’s Museum of the Arts: “Join CMA for the launch event of our newest program, Art For All! The Art for All program offers free admission to CMA for any child with a disability and their caregiver during all open hours. Celebrate this exciting launch with a special guest appearance and workshop by Mariam Paré from 12-3 p.m.! Mariam is an ambassador of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists, a for-profit organization representing the unique talents of its 800 working artists with disabilities. Mariam will demonstrate her mouth painting technique to young artists and invite them to try mouth painting for themselves!” It’s Sept. 26.

••• The annual PARK(ing) Day, in which people and organizations turn parking spaces into “parks,” is tomorrow (Friday), and Tribeca-based HR&A (“an industry leader in economic development, real estate and public policy consulting”) is once again participating. From the release:

HR&A New York’s temporary pocket park will be located on the corner at Greenwich Street and Franklin in Tribeca, from 9am to 5pm. Our ‘parklet’ theme will focus on the NYC waterfront and will encourage pedestrians to think about how they use the waterfront now, and what lies in store for its future. In partnering with Waterfront Alliance and the New York Public Library, we will bring aspects of the waterfront to our parklet with recreational activities, water, and education. We hope you can join us at our parklet, which will include: paper boat making and a pool, a ping-pong table, a hammock, wifi and desks, story time with the NYPL, educational programs from The Waterfront Alliance, live plants, fake grass, and a voting system to understand how Tribecans think about the future of our waterfront. [More info here; the pic below is from the 2013 parklet.]
