After the first Shop-Local Gift Guide in 2010, I never ran another because it was a lot of work. But hey, there are fewer shops now, right? And—related—people seem to need reminding that Tribeca is still one of Manhattan’s best shopping neighborhoods. So get out there and buy someone’s affection! I’ve included items that caught my eye, but there’s a whole lot more at every shop. I wasn’t price-sensitive, so please don’t comment about how expensive something is or I’ll delete it. UPDATE: It took all of 10 minutes for someone to whine about the price of something. If you think a price is too high, don’t buy it! Also, there may be very good reason the price is what it is, but if I have to go onto detail about the virtues of everything I post about in the gift guide, I’ll get overwhelmed again and stop after a few posts. So please try to get into the holiday spirit and keep the negativity to a minimum, OK?

Erik, it would be helpful if you included the addresses. It saves having to go to each website.
Thanks for doing this Erik!! I really want to support the local tribeca businesses and thisis very helpful.
This is great, Erik! I was trying to come up with a “shop local” list for a couple of holiday gifts – and here it is, right under my nose. Thanks again!
