••• Blast from the past! Spartina, which was in the Maison Kayser space before the Harrison, is opening in L.A. From an L.A. Times article about it: “Spartina will be a reincarnation of a restaurant he opened in New York City in 1993, also called Spartina. [Chef Stephen] Kalt described the East Coast version as focusing on Mediterranean, Spanish, southern Italian and north African flavors. “The 2015 version, L.A. style, is more Italian, more market-driven with pizza and pasta. But it’s not a red sauce restaurant.”

••• The 1st Precinct Community Council next meeting is Thursday, Dec. 10, 6:30 p.m., at the 1st Precinct.
