••• A reader sent over a pic of all of the shelves being removed from Food Emporium/Best Market. This is going to be the most documented supermarket opening ever! (By the way, there’s really no point in asking when it’ll open till we see more going in than we see coming out.)
••• Good Stock is launching Office Delivery of its soups. Also, next week’s Home Delivery menu includes Spiced Parsnip, which sounds so good on a day like today.
••• The new home of the Flea theater on Thomas Street is making some progress. Rendering here; it doesn’t match the one posted at the site but I believe it’s the more current one.
••• The BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center will host the top three winners of the annual Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition: “Each vocalist to perform with their own combo: Jazzmeia Horn (Feb. 20), Veronica Swift (Mar. 5) and Vuyo Sotashe (Mar. 19).”
••• I could track this down on my own, but I know someone out there already knows: What’s behind the monstered window at 56 Lispenard?
••• Looks like the phone store at 349 Broadway (at Leonard) is toast.
••• There’s an exhibit of street photography coming up at Salomon Arts Gallery; after tomorrow’s opening event, it’s by appointment only (salomonarts@earthlink.net) through January 21.
I signed up for the Best Market Tribeca mailing list a while back – they just sent an email out advertising “Now Hiring” for a number of their locations, including “Tribeca NYC.” It’s also available at http://bestmarket.com/work/.
