••• The World Trade Center Transportation Hub—or at least half of it—opens next week-ish, and it’s being lit up at night. It’s pretty spectacular. The second shot is from the fourth floor of the Millenium Hilton, which hosted last night’s meeting of the Tribeca Alliance of small business owners.
••• Now on sale: Tickets for the annual Taste of Tribeca (May 21), benefiting P.S. 150 and P.S. 234. Even better: TC readers can get $5 off of an Early Bird ticket (normally $45) by using the code TRIBECACITIZEN at tasteoftribeca.com. And four-packs of Early Bird tickets are on sale for $160 each.
••• The photography of Tommy Flynn, who works in Tribeca, is featured in Gourmet Garage’s windows. “John from the Woodward Gallery is the curator for all the Gourmet Garages,” explains Flynn. “I’m a street vendor on the weekends in Soho, showing my food-as-art photos, and John discovered me and my work and invited me to show my work there.”
••• From Community Board 1: “The Broadway Phase 1 Reconstruction Community Construction Liaison advised that although the overall project is still on track for completion by August 2017 it could optimistically be finished by spring of 2017. The earlier end date fluctuates as problems unfold (recently a Con Ed gas leak and its current and ongoing steam matter at Dey Street) [….] Cortlandt to Dey is scheduled for reopening of the block by end May, 2016.”
