Tom Galis, who opened The Greek three years ago, hoped to double-down on Tribeca with an all-day Greek restaurant in the new Sterling Mason building, at the corner of Greenwich and Laight. The opposition was fierce, even after Galis backed down from late closing hours, and now he has decided to punt altogether. “The owners of the units were posing too many restrictions and it just wasn’t feasible,” he says.
