The stroller gridlock on Duane is going to get even worse: Citibabes is moving from Soho to Tribeca, where it’ll be located at 142 Duane, between Washington Market School and JCP Downtown. It’s also becoming a licensed preschool.

Here’s the letter from founder and CEO Tracey Frost:

After eleven wonderful years on Mercer Street, Citibabes is pleased to announce that we will be relocating to a light-filled, three-story Italianate Renaissance loft building located at 142 Duane Street in Tribeca. We are happy to have found the best possible space for the growing demands for our Citischool Preschool Program.

After years of operating as a preschool alternative, Citischool at Citibabes will become a licensed preschool. The Tribeca location will operate seven preschool classrooms, starting with our youngest Citischool Junior program at 12 months and ending with our 4s/5s program. We are expanding to include a 4s Spanish Immersion and a 2s/3s Mandarin Immersion program as well as a full-day childcare option for children ages 12-24 months and extended day drop off options for all CitiSchool students.

We also look forward to offering a wide range of amenities for our downtown families including fun and educational enrichment classes for children ages 2 months – 5 years, parenting workshops, our extremely popular birthday parties and a great indoor playspace.

Our plan is to open in Tribeca in late 2017. We could not be more excited about this transition and we look forward to sharing more details with you over the coming months.
