••• I’m still curious what’s happening at 13-17 Laight, the building where Tribeca Cinemas used to be. (Clearly the windows are being worked on.) A while back, there was a rendering in the window that the developer distanced itself from.
••• Opening today at Cheryl Hazan: Amusement by Kazumi Yoshida. Below: “Syncopation,” which is just wonderful.
••• This Thursday at Washington Market Park: Rolie Polie Guacamole plays a concert at 5:30 p.m. And this Saturday at 11 a.m. is the park’s Ladybug Day, when kids get to release ladybugs.
••• When I saw the “for lease” sign at 104 Reade, I figured it might be for Reade Street Prep’s ground-floor space (the school is opening at 101 Reade across the street) and also, maybe, the Jill Lindsey shop/event space below—because there has been not a peep from Lindsey about it since January, when New York magazine said it’d open in February. But the broker says it’s just for the ground floor. (Anyone know anything about Lindsey’s plans?)
••• The full demolition of 537 Greenwich is complete. That’s where Cape Advisors is planning a 30-story building fronting Greenwich and Charlton.
••• An Indian restaurant called Dastaan is opening at 126 Lafayette, between Howard and Canal. (I mistakenly snapped a pic of 128 Lafayette instead; 126 is the pizza place and what used to be a shipping store.) The restaurant may or may not be related to the Dastaan southwest of London.
