New Restaurant in the Blaue Gans Space

Like this.

Here’s an idea: Fewer traffic cops, construction workers, and crossing guards waving traffic through without looking to see if any pedestrians are about to cross.

It’s rare that we see a proposed addition that’s twice as large as the existing building.

More on 87 Walker here.

2) 139 Duane Street, application for liquor license for Fish Republic – Resolution

The big news this month: Something is coming to the still-warm Blaue Gans space. There’s nothing online yet, but work is proceeding quickly—I believe the light fixtures are new, and they appear to have painted over some of the posters (but not under the mirror?) and papered over others…? If you know more about whatever Fish Republic is, email tribecacitizen@gmail.com or text 917-209-6473. Anonymity guaranteed.

3) 45 Murray Street, application for liquor license for Benarasi – Resolution (Tentative)

It would appear that a restaurant called Benarasi is taking over the Benares space. Nothing online, but from the name, I think we can deduce it’ll be Indian.

4) 293 Church Street, application for liquor license for The Drug Store – Resolution

Ugh, toxins! Seriously, though, there was only ever talk of mocktails.

5) 452 Washington Street, application for method of operation change to include sidewalk cafe for Greca – Resolution (Tentative)
6) 6 Murray Street, application for liquor license for The Whiskey Tribeca– Resolution

And it would appear that the folks behind The Whiskey bars in Williamsburg, Chinatown, and the East Village are taking over Manhattan Proper, although my understanding is that it’s not a done deal.
