Seen & Heard: Art World Conference to Be Held Here

••• On December 8, you can meet jeweler Yoshinobu Kataoka at his new Tribeca shop. RSVP here. Below: The new Brut line.

••• Attention art people: “The Art World Conference will be a two-day event which will take place at New York Law School” in April. “Founders Dexter Wimbly and Heather Bhandari have assembled a who’s who list of professionals to present at the conference hailing from companies such as Google and Kickstarter as well as educators, creators/artists such as Mickalene Thomas and many others. The Conference will address: How do I get a gallery to show my work? How can I sustain a living as an artist—or when can I quite my day job and do what I was born to do! What are digital marketing/social media best practices? What are some expert tips for networking at art fairs?”

••• The Toytoise store at the World Trade Center mall is a pop-up, according to an email from the Downtown Alliance.

••• From the same email: “On Saturday, December 1, and Sunday, December 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian will host the Native Art Market. The market’s vendors feature ceramics, fine apparel, handwoven baskets and sculptures from Native American artists.” Hopefully there will also be turquoise jewelry.

••• November 28 to December 1: Soho Photo’s Postcard and Print Sale.
