Tribeca jewelry designer Cass Lilien (whose tiny shop has been a Harrison Street fixture for a decade) has joined up with locals Kristina Rinaldi (an interior designer) and Catherine Fenton Bernath (a fine artist and maker) to open Love, Henry – a charming shop-slash-gallery on the edge of Chinatown and Two Bridges. The gals describe it as a “finely curated selection of beautifully designed utility items.” They plan to exhibit art not only from professionals (Catherine’s own work is up now, and paintings from Seungkyung Oh go up Feb. 1), but they also forged a relationship with the art teacher from PS 2 across the street and plan to show her students’ work this spring.

Wedged alongside a restaurant supply store, Japanese retailer ‘have a good time’ and a series of tenements, the shop glows lavender (thanks to a neon sign made around the corner) and smells fantastic (thanks to Le Feu de L’eau candles, which are for sale). Among the items: luxe cheaters, cotton socks from Holland and hand-crafted modern Shaker brooms made on an 1890s broom machine in – where else? – Brooklyn. They are also on the prowl for local makers in Chinatown.

The trio also plans to offer Third Thursday maker events. This week: a macramé tutorial led by Cass ($45; to register, DM them on Instagram). (See photo below of planter to get an idea.)
