Join The Battery Conservancy’s Chief Horticulturalist for a stroll through the beautiful perennial gardens designed by renowned Dutch designer Piet Oudolf on Saturday, May 18, from 11 to noon. Free, but register here.

KIDS GARDENING + TURTLES AT WMP
Kids can plant annuals with the park’s gardener at the citywide event It’s My Park Day on Saturday, May 18, 11a to noon, at Washington Market Park. And then on Monday, May 20, kids can examine and learn about turtles at Turtle Mania from 4 to 5:30p. Join Lenny from the Teaching Turtle for his second time back at the park. Details here. 

 

DINE AROUND DOWNTOWN RETURNS
The Downtown Alliance will host its 18th annual Dine Around Downtown food festival on Tuesday, May 21, at Fosun’s, 28 Liberty Plaza, from 11a to 3p. More than three dozen local restaurants including Blue Park Kitchen, Crown Shy and Parm will sell dishes for either $3 or $7. CELEBRATING TAINO CULTURE FOR KIDS
Taíno, Taíno, Taíno returns to the National Museum of the American Indian this weekend. The annual children’s festival celebrates Taíno culture of the Caribbean. Kids will get to enjoy hammock making, clay pot decorating and the opportunity to craft a maraca or magnet that kids will be able to take home. The free festival will feature music and dancing as well as storytelling. Taíno, Taíno, Taíno runs from 11a-5p on Saturday and Sunday.

LUXURY RIDES AT BROOKFIELD
Brookfield will host a collection of classic luxury cars in a festival called the Manhattan Concours this Saturday, May 18, from 9 to 4. The cars will compete with each other for best in class and best in show.
