Seen & Heard: Listen live to plans for City Winery at Pier 57

CITY WINERY NEWS LIVE TODAY
Michael Dorf will have a live discussion about City Winery’s plans at its new location at Pier 57 at 3p today on Instagram. (I didn’t even know there *was* an Instagram live.) (Thanks to G. for the heads-up.)

AWARDS FOR PARK POSTER DESIGN
In the keeping-it-in-the-family department, local Liz Reitman and her team at Reitdesign on Park Place won a Communicator Award (given by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts) for their design of Washington Market Park’s movie night posters, which, by the way, they do for free along with the park’s branding and xmas posters. (And for the record, longtime resident Jaime Vinas designs the posters for the park’s other events – Halloween, summer concerts, tennis — which is why that bulletin board on Greenwich always looks so smart.)

GOOD WORKS DEPARTMENT PART 3
Local resident Adam Oestreich serves on the Young Patrons Board of the American Red Cross (he’s also the liaison to the Senior Board) whose summer fundraiser event is coming up on June 13 on Howard Street. Founded by the Civil War pioneering nurse Clara Barton in 1881 (!), the organization provides emergency assistance, disaster relief and disaster preparedness education in the US.

ERIC BOGOSIAN LIVE TONIGHT
Randy Cohen will tape his “Person Place Thing” featuring actor and author Eric Bogosian live tonight at 7p at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center at BMCC. Tickets to the recording are $10 and available online, at the door, and by phone at 212-220-1460.

LAUNCH F18 SHOW EXAMINES CULTURE
Two New York-based artists, Meena Hasan and Tommy Kha, will be featured in a show at Launch F18 Gallery at 373 Broadway (at White). The show delves into the artists’ American and cultural identities and focuses on women in their families and post-colonial legacies. The show is on view through June 22.
