MORE ON THE MEMORIAL GLADE
The Washington Post has a nice story with more details on the new Memorial Glade at the WTC. Thanks to Anna for the forward. “It consists of six massive granite monoliths inlaid with salvaged steel from the fallen structures. Hewn by craftsmen in Vermont, the granite monoliths’ jagged shapes call attention to the largely hidden health struggles of those whose lives were changed — or later ended — by the attacks. According to the World Trade Center Health Program, more than 9,400 registered responders developed cancer after the attacks. Thousands more experience mental-health conditions, airway ailments and other health issues.”

BIKE POD TO GO
Patch reports that Oonee, a bike parking pod start-up, plans to close up shop in July, but may try to execute a last-ditch effort. (I don’t really understand what it does, but maybe someone can explain.)

MEMORIAL FOR PR HURRICANE VICTIMS
Cuomo said he will build a memorial to the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and site in in Battery Park City. And the Broadsheet reports that there are six possible sites: two within parks and four surrounding the North Cove Marina. The park locations are the northern Esplanade, just west of Stuyvesant High School, and the sliver of Wagner Park immediately adjacent to the Museum of Jewish Heritage.

91 LEONARD WRAPPED UP
New York YIMBY reports that construction is finished on 91 Leonard: “The 19-story, 210-foot-high residential building is designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and Hill West Architects, and developed by Toll Brothers City Living. Designed to architecturally reflect the iconic characteristic of traditional cast iron warehouses and lofts, the residential building’s dark-colored bronze and glass curtain wall makes it a handsome addition to the neighborhood.”

HOWARD HUGHES SITE + MERCURY
The Times dips into the local story at the Seaport, of Howard Hughes, a thermometer factor and the Peck Slip School. “The danger could occur if the cap is removed. And in construction-happy New York, that is always a possibility.”
