OUTDOOR MOVIES AT GOV ISLE
The Trust for Governors Island and Film at Lincoln Center will host movies on the Parade Ground: School of Rock on Friday, June 14, Scorsese’s dark comedy classic After Hours on July 12 and Michel Gondry’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on August 9, each paired with an independent short film by a local filmmaker selected by Film at Lincoln Center’s programming team. Beer garden, food and music begin at 6p, with program and screening kicking off at dusk.

DIANNE TALAN AT WHITE SPACE
Local artist Dianne Talan will exhibit her painting “Good Government Good Year” (6’x6’x6″) at the next edition of Tribeca Art + Culture Night, June 20, 6-9p at White Space, 50 White.

A VIEW OF THE PAST
J. sent this pic of the “Oceana” mural by Jerry Johnson that occupied a wall next to a corner lot at Duane and Church that now houses the Duane Street Hotel. It was a project of the Public Art Fund and was there from 1979 to 1984.

HOLY GROUND POP-UP
The men behind Holy Ground — Nathan Lithgow and Franco V – are branching out past the neighborhood and operating two summer pop-ups: Elsewhere Brooklyn, a rooftop music venue in Bushwick; and a BBQ joint in an open lot at Stanton and Ludlow.

G. spotted this new ad for the Bronx Zoo, which is looking kind of cool halfway completed. Of course, I still miss JR’s ballerina.

BROOKFIELD FREE SUMMER WORKOUTS
The Summer Fitness Series at Brookfield Place will offer complimentary fitness classes run by gyms from around the city (Solace, Tone House, CorePower Yoga, 305 Fitness, 30/60/90) for all levels.
