FAR FROM THE HIVE
The Trib has an amazing story and pics of a swarm of honey bees who took up residence on a China Blue delivery bike parked at Watts and Greenwich, later to be rescued and relocated by the NYPD’s bee unit. (This is all a true story!)
EARTH, WIND & FIRE IN TRIBECA
AD has a story on an apartment in the American Thread building with a place in contemporary music history: “This massive six-bedroom loft in the American Thread Building at 260 West Broadway spans 3,800 square feet with 45 feet of frontage facing Tribeca Park; the converted and designer-renovated condominium’s $7 million price reflects not only its massive size, rare arched windows and covetable loft bones, but likely also its culturally significant famous past: Built in 1894, the space was once home to Duplex Sound, the studio where world-renowned musicians including Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Earth, Wind & Fire and jazz saxophonist Paul Desmond once recorded tracks.”
25 PARK ROW WRAPPING UP
From New York YIMBY: “The 50-story tower at 25 Park Row is now hurtling towards completion. The project is being designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by L&M Development Partners. Sales have already launched for the 110 residences, which are being handled and marketed by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. The exterior is continuing to be assembled as it rises up the reinforced concrete structure, which topped-out last year.”
SAFAVIEH COMING TO SOHO
The business-to-business website HFN reports that “the 7,500 square-foot SoHo store will feature numerous home furnishings brands such as Baker, Ralph Lauren, Thayer Coggin, Bernhardt Interiors, Glas Italia, American Leather, Lee Industries, Trica, Century, BDI, Phillips Collection, Hickory Chair, Visual Comfort, Global Views and Arteriors. There will also be a large selection of rugs.”
SUMMER AT THE SEAPORT
City Guide has a round-up of events and happenings on deck (get it?) for the Seaport this summer.
Such a nice bee rescue by the NYPD. A much needed feel good story and well worth the taxpayer dollars.
