PRIDE ON THE LAWN
In the never-ending Instagram-ready settings being created around the city for Pride Month, Battery Park City Parks spray painted its lawn with a rainbow flag (the green is just grass!), which looks amazing and hopefully lasts while the rains hold off… (Thanks to R. for the rooftop shot!)
DRINKS ON BOARD THE LILAC
The Lilac will host a summer sunset art party – free to the public as long as they are over 21 – on Wednesday, June 26, 7-9p. There will be a cash bar (no cards) and all proceeds will benefit the historic ship. The evening will also feature short films by nine women artists: Vanessa Albury, Katie Armstrong, Graciela Cassel, Kerry Cox, Rachel Garber Cole, Janie Korn, Nazanin Noroozi, Nicole Rademacher and Kimberly Ruth and solo photography show by Jean Miele and tours of the engine room and bridge.
PRIDE, INFLATED
In honor of Pride Month, Westfield has installed a wacky, 20-foot-tall inflatable on the floor of the Oculus, created by the Goldberg Aberline Studio in Australia (those are the creators in the second pic — so cute I had to post). The fun is to walk underneath it. Up till June 28, when it will be taken apart and marched in pieces on Pride Day, June 30.
