HAVEN GREEN GETS GREEN LIGHT
The City Council approved the controversial plan for senior housing on the site of the Elizabeth Street Garden – a city-owned lot with a private leasehold that neighbors adopted as a pocket park. “Haven Green” will have 123 permanently affordable units for seniors with a public open space in the rear yard to be maintained by the building in perpetuity. The units will be affordable to anyone making up to $42K, with 37 units set aside for the formerly homeless. The development will also have a meeting space and retail on the ground floor. It’s being developed by Pennrose LLC, RiseBoro Community Partnership and Habitat for Humanity New York City.
NEIGHBORS SPARKING JOY
Local residents and partners Jessica Yatrofsky and Gillian Stoddard have started a new company – Spark Joy Dwell — that helps clients declutter and organize their space, plus a little bit more. “We also help them to envision, and eventually achieve, their ideal lifestyle, both in and outside the home. We believe that reinvigorating your most intimate spaces makes room for greater, beneficial lifestyle changes.” Jessica is a bronze certified KonMari consultant, one of Marie Kondo’s trained disciples in the tidying industry.

*THE* RED CAT??
J. spotted this notice for a Red Cat Bar at 286 Spring. Awaiting word from CB2. I don’t *think* it is associated with the classic Chelsea restaurant Red Cat that closed (sadly) in December, but one can always hope.
OUTDOORS AT FRENCHETTE
D. sent this (very nice!) shot of the outdoor seating now available at Frenchette. Well done with the curbside planters…
