CANADIAN NATIVE ART AT BROOKFIELD
Canadian artist Jordan Bennett has a monumental installation that nearly fills the Wintergarden at Brookfield Place. Titled “Tepkik,” the work is his first piece in the US and is on display until Sept. 6. Bennett is a Mi’kmaq native of Newfoundland and lives and works on his ancestral territory of Mi’kma’ki in Terence Bay, Nova Scotia. For this piece, he used aluminum and printed polysilk fabric to show the ebb and flow of time as a storytelling motif.

HANNAH SENESH AT MUSEUM OF JEWISH HERITAGE
Previews for the Museum of Jewish Heritage’s production of “Hannah Senesh” start July 24 and performances run through August 18 for this one-woman show (starring Lexi Rabadi). It tells the true story of Hannah Senesh, a young Jewish woman who escaped from Axis-allied Hungary in 1939 to the safety of British Mandate Palestine. There she joined Haganah and then bravely volunteered for a daring Special Operations mission to parachute back into Europe to save Jews from the approaching Holocaust. Written and Directed by David Schechter.
Just for the sake of some new information; in Canada First Nations is the official ethnic title for well Canada’s First Nations.
