8,000 SQUARE FEET OF THE OUTDOORS
The North Face opened a new store in Soho today, which the company is calling “part basecamp, part archive and part store. The new retail environment will be the ultimate embodiment of the brand’s DNA in a physical location.” The store is 8,000 square feet, and will have a grand opening tomorrow at 524 Broadway at Spring. Elements include a museum-like archive of The North Face athlete expeditions, a signature Half Dome scent that will instantly transport customers to the outdoors, and a team of experts who will offer exploration recommendations tailored to local adventure.

The Today show did a story about adult coloring books and their use as a destressing tool and sought expert advice from Tribeca Therapy’s Heather Mayone Kiely, an art therapist and director of the clinic’s Creative Arts Therapy program. Turns out not all coloring books work on all personalities…

ST. JOHN’S BUILDING UPDATE
ICYMI, here’s a Crain’s story on Google’s plans for 550 Washington, the former St. John’s Terminal building across from Pier 40, which is being demolished now. Construction will be done in 2022, at which time Google will become the 6th largest commercial tenant in the city. The company also has the most of Pier 57 in Hudson River Park, at the end of 15th Street.

A NEW CEO FOR WTC ARTS CENTER
The former CEO of the Trust for Governors Island, Leslie Koch, will lead the World Trade Center’s Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center. –Patch
