Construction on the 60-story behemoth is back underway. The New York YIMBY reports that a “reflective glass curtain wall” is being installed. No completion date has been made public, though “façade work will likely be completely sometime next year,” says the article.
ARCHPAPER TAKES ON BOROUGH JAIL PROPOSAL

Take a look at Naomi Watts’s Onda Beauty store, which was recently featured in Vogue. The Tribeca-based boutique offers two treatment rooms, and an assortment of products. This “wellness haven,” as Vogue calls it, was started by Watts and two friends in the hopes of making the beauty industry a little more holistic.

A comprehensive report–published in the wake of the L-train shutdown–illustrates the potential negative impact that long commutes could have on health. The report, along with a New York City Department of Health survey, links long travel times to obesity. The data compares different neighborhoods while also accounting for income disparity, according to the Brooklyn Eagle.
TONI MORRISON AT 240 CENTRE
In remembrance of Toni Morrison, who died August 5th, here is a wonderful article from AM New York. At the time, Morrision lived in her Soho apartment at 240 Centre–a building that once housed the city’s police headquarters. The original interview appeared in a 1998 issue of Newsday.
