NEW AND IMPROVED COBBLES?
A. sent this pic of the trompe l’oeil cobblestones on Greenwich at Laight. Call is in to the DOT to explain the plan here (the permit is for DOT in-house paving and milling). Certainly will make for a smoother ride, though it’s hard to tell just how these are constructed and what the total effect will be aesthetically. Stay tuned.

Am I the last to know that Happy Land (on Church) closed? Those gals spared me a few crippling back crises over the years. And — according to a friend, ahem — it was in fact the land of happy endings.
