THE HUNT, TRIBECA STYLE
The Times’ real estate search column took a couple from California (kids in college, new job in the city) with $2 million to spend on a Tribeca scavenger hunt — trying to replace their three-bedroom house in LA (with pool) for the two of them and their golden retriever. They went from 49 Chambers (the recent conversion of the Beaux Arts building) to 30 Warren on the corner of Church (not yet finished) to a coop at 138 Duane. You have to click on a two-question survey to get the answer to see what they chose so I won’t spoil it here. I guessed wrong!
IN THE DARWIN AWARD DEPARTMENT…
Two 18-year-olds jumped into the Hudson near the North Cove Marina to get their volleyball, and of course, the NYPD had to fish them out. Why that volleyball was so precious, or why it would take two of them to get it, is something only an 18-year-old mind can answer. CBS News reports: “They got the ball… They also got a whole lot of police to help them get the ball!” an NYPD sergeant said right after that.

EQUITABLE BUILDING RENO IS COMPLETE
New York YIMBY reports that restoration work on the Equitable Building, aka 120 Broadway, is complete. The historic 104-year-old Beaux Arts skyscraper underwent a two-year, $50 million renovation and recently celebrated the opening of the Bankers Club – a private bar reserved for tenants of the building (still, I want to see it).
CUOMO AND SANDRA LEE SPLIT
ICYMI (I did) Battery Park City resident Sandra Lee and her longtime boyfriend, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, have split up after 14 years. She splits her time between here and LA. — The New York Times
49 Chambers isn’t really Tribeca.
Neither is 30 Warren
