In the News: 9/11 Tribute Museum losing its home

9/11 TRIBUTE MUSEUM LOSING ITS HOME
The 9/11 Tribute Museum at 92 Greenwich may soon be closed since the building it occupies is for sale and must be delivered vacant, Crain’s reports. The museum was founded by Lee Ilepi, whose firefighter son John Ilepi died on 9/11. The museum was started in 2006 and filled in the education gap until the 9/11 Memorial and Museum opened in 2014.

THE PRESIDENT SUES DEAN & DELUCA
Dean & DeLuca, it seems, has screwed over more than a few of its vendors and at least one landlord: The Trump Organization is suing the company for defaulting on its lease at 40 Wall, according to Crain’s. The story adds this fun detail: “President Trump’s acquisition of 40 Wall St. in 1995 was one of his best deals ever. The building generates $40 million in annual rent from business tenants, according to Crain’s estimates, or at least $10 million more than Trump Tower. The 72-story tower was built in 1930 and originally called the Bank of Manhattan Trust Building. It was once the headquarters of Trump University.”

WALL STREET WHOLE FOODS TAKING SHAPE
While we are way downtown, New York YIMBY has photos and an update on the Whole Foods slated for One Wall, at the corner of Broadway and Exchange Place. The store should open in 2021.

THIRD CHARGE OF ASSAULT FOR BPC RESIDENT
The Post reports that Battery Park City resident Adam Lublin was charged with sexual abuse for a third time by the Manhattan DA. The latest indictment charges him with one count of first-degree sexual abuse against a coworker at her home on Nov. 22, 2015. In September, Lublin was arraigned on counts of sexual abuse and burglary after he allegedly snuck into a neighbor’s apartment, sexually abused her and stole her undergarments.

  1. Regarding the 9/11 Tribute Museum, it is not the “building” that is for sale, but the actual retail space which is a Condominium unit.

  2. What is wrong with our justice system that Adam Lublin continues to get out on bail? He is clearly a danger to the community, and yet The Post reports that, once again, he’s been released on bail (twice as more victims came forward). It’s a disgrace.
