In the News: 250 Church will stay an office building

250 CHURCH SALE CLOSES FOR $205 MILLION
The sale on the former office building at 250 Church has closed and it will be …. an office building, according to The Real Deal, but this time it’s “boutique.” Earlier this year, Columbia Property Trust and Normandy Real Estate Partners had plans to do a rental conversion on the 16-story building, but those are nixed. The building is vacant. Its most recent tenant was the city’s Human Resources Administration.

FORGIONE TO TAKE OVER PEASANT
Eater reports that Marc Forgione will take over Nolita “gem” Peasant: “The 20-year-old Nolita restaurant that was one of the pioneers of open-fire cooking in New York City — will no longer close in December. Instead owner and chef Frank DeCarlo is passing the buck to Marc Forgione, the chef best known for his eponymous Tribeca restaurant and for winning the Next Iron Chef in 2010.”

DONATE YOUR OLD COATS
The Gothamist has a list of places in the city doing coat drives, including the Bowery Mission at 227 Bowery in Soho at Prince.

MODEL STILL MISSING FROM MARRIOTT
The Villager has additional pictures of the model who went missing last month from the Marriott Hotel at 100 Greenwich.

130 WILLIAM NEARLY FINISHED
Attack of the supertalls: New York YIMBY reports (and has some cool pictures of…) the facade on 130 William — the David Adjaye building — is just about complete: The charcoal-colored, concrete-cast arches are now approaching the flat roof.

  1. PS 150 at 334 Greenwich is accepting coats for donation to NY Cares, from M-F, between 9am-3pm. One of our 5th Graders is leading the initiative through his own humanitarian organization, ChangeWillHappen.org. The donation box is located in the school’s vestibule.
