JEAN HOLABIRD’S TRIBUTE TO FALLEN STARS
Local artist Jean Holabird has installed her paper towers, which she has been making on and off since 9/11, at the Western Union building on the West Broadway side at Thomas. Above the towers are 30 or so stars, each of which represents a bar, restaurant or shop that has closed since Holabird moved to the neighborhood in 1975, among them Dudley’s Paw, Socrates, Raccoon Lodge, El Internacional. MUSEUM OF ICE CREAM OPEN AGAIN
The pop-up Museum of Ice Cream is in Soho again now through March 1. Tickets are $39, but there will also be a cafe that is open to the public. 558 Broadway. Eater reported that this is a permanent set up (save us) but the site is only selling tickets through the end of February. You *can* take a “morning dip” in the sprinkle pool. Yuck.

SNOW FALLING IN SOHO 24-7
I didn’t believe this at first, but the Woolrich store in Soho on Wooster now has a “snow room” that is cooled to minus 20, so you can test out their parkas. Depending on the season, you’ll find alternating snow, rain and wind cycles that simulate various climates.

BATTERY PARK CITY TREE RECYCLING
The BPCA has released its calendar of winter events. Scroll through here. Events include Zumba on Christmas Eve, morning meditation throughout the holiday week and xmas tree recycling through Jan. 24. Parks staff will pick up trees curbside.
