CELLIST PLAYS BOWIE ON FRIDAY
On Jan. 10, cellist Maya Beiser gives an immersive and visual interpretation of David Bowie in a free show at the Winter Garden at 8p. The concert is a dramatic track-by-track reimagining of Bowie’s final album, “Blackstar.”
ART HOUSE CLASSICS AT BPC
Battery Park City Authority will host Friday Night Films once a month starting Jan. 10, 6p, at 6 River Terrace. More info here in the winter event program.
Jan 10: “Putney Swope” — a 1969 satirical comedy film about a black advertising executive.
Feb. 7: “Shadows” — a 1958 American independent dramatic film directed by John Cassavetes about race relations.
March 13: “The Harder They Come” — a 1972 Jamaican film that features Jimmy Cliff as an aspiring young singer from the countryside who travels to Kingston to pursue musical stardom.
FACADE WORK AT 9 JAY
A. sent this pics of 9 Jay and its facade work, all part of the Staple Street bridge property that connects the building with an apartment in 67 Hudson. (See the Loft Peeping: Extreme Edition here.) The apartment is no longer on the market, though it can still be shown by the Sotheby’s agents representing owner Zoran Ladicorbic, the American fashion designer from the ‘90s known by his first name only, who bought it in 1985 for $499,000. Price remains $35 mill.

L. wrote to say that the Corte Cafe/deli on the corner of Duane and Lafayette has closed.
