33 PARK ROW FINISHING UP
New York YIMBY has some good closeups of 33 Park Row, the northernmost building in the old J&R strip. (That’s a rendering, above, and that’s the old site, below.) The building is 330 feet tall with 30 units.
FIDI PRICE COMPARISON
Curbed does one of its price comparisons, this time for $675,000 with Fidi in the mix. A condo studio on Wall between Pearl and Water compares to a four-bedroom house in Jamaica with a backyard, a one-bedroom coop on East 56th Street, a two-bedroom coop in Prospect Heights and a one-bedroom coop on East 76th Street.
BROADWAY AND DEY ON ITS WAY UP
185 Broadway, the site at the corner of Dey above the subway entrance, is under construction now, and expected to go up another 31 floors. The building will be mixed use, with commercial on the bottom and 209 rentals above, with 63 units, or 30 percent, dedicated to affordable housing. The goal is to be open by March 2021. – YIMBY
PUSHING FOR A PUBLIC SCHOOL FOR DYSLEXICS
Since I have a daughter who is dyslexic (and who started out at PS 234 but could not get enough services there) this caught my eye: Margaret Chin and Scott Stringer are working with CB2 to open a public school tailored to students with dyslexia and related disabilities. The idea is to take the Bleecker School, a giveback from 2012 for the New York University expansion project, and use it for this purpose. The DOE is ready to move forward on the empty site on the corner of Bleecker Street and LaGuardia Place. In order for construction on the school to begin, the DOE must receive the necessary funding by Dec 31, 2021. –New York County Politics
The school will take the location of the Morton Williams supermarket FYI
