Seen & Heard: What’s open in Chinatown

WHAT’S OPEN IN CHINATOWN
The Chinatown Partnership is keeping lists of both open supermarkets and restaurants providing takeout and delivery in Chinatown and the surrounding neighborhoods. The list is being updated daily. (Thanks to J. for sending.)

PLAYWRITING FOR KIDS
Laura Rohrman’s Playwriting For Kids classes that were due to start April 1 have been postponed until at least September, but in the meantime, she is running Zoom Saturday Monologue Writing Workshops. “We did a trial run last weekend and it was really great. I gave the kids an interview assignment (to call a grandparent or older person) that will hopefully help us with prompts for our next session. I felt like this is an outlet the kids need. We are writing our feelings.” Classes will meet on Zoom every Saturday from noon to 1 through April. They will film the finished monologues at the end of the month. Classes are $15 a session or $50 for the month of April.

LUV MICHAEL STILL DELIVERING
The granologists at Luv Michael Kitchen & Learning Center are keeping busy by hosting their own virtual stores that can receive donations. The chefs-in-training are earning 20 percent of each donation with the remainder going to support center operations and order fulfillment. The organization, which supports and trains adults with autism, is also delivering e-learning classes with its chef and is developing new classes for students.
