AMEX STARTS TO OPEN OFFICES…
…sort of. To get a better understanding of why some place like Amish is closing, they also told employees that they can continue working from home through June 2021 if they wish. Crain’s reports that only 10 percent of workers are in place in the New York office. “We have decided to extend through June 30, 2021, our temporary work-from-home policy,” Chief Executive Officer Stephen Squeri said in a memo to workers. “This updated policy covers all colleagues worldwide who are able to effectively perform their roles at home and opt not to return to the office once it reopens, until the new June 2021 deadline.”
PODS ON THE ROOF
The Times has a story about New Yorkers using their roof decks for learning pods and features some homework action on the roof at 100 Barclay with a new resident: “She is now working on setting up a learning pod for a group of five to seven children, with plans to hire a tutor once the school year starts at P.S. 234. When the weather cools, she hopes the children will be able to study in an indoor lounge, providing it is open.” It’s a plan.
NAOMI WATTS ON PANDEMIC BEAUTY ROUTINES
Tribecan Naomi Watts, who is a partner in Onda Beauty, tells Refinery29 how her beauty routine survived the quarantine: “Just like everything in lockdown, it has been inconsistent at best, and so hard to keep disciplined when the Zoom calls start before my alarm clock goes off. The same is true for my eating, which is absolutely linked to skin wellbeing. However, doing the bits I’ve been able to do is better than doing nothing at all. It’s a game of little wins right now, right?”
