GRAND BANKS GOING TO NOV. 15
With a warm front coming in, Grand Banks is extending the season and staying docked at Pier 25 till Nov. 15.

J. CREW TURNS UP THE LIGHTS
The former Ludlow Suit Shop on Hudson has now reverted to a regular J. Crew, and has also added some lively decor to the outside.

DOWNTOWN ALLIANCE CROSSES THE BORDER
I wondered why this transfer box (that’s my name for it…) was looking so spiffy, especially in a time with city budget cuts across all agencies, and I think we have the Downtown Alliance to thank. The organization, whose catchment area is really south of Murray, sent a graffiti removal crew up north to the blocks between Chambers and Duane, West B’way and Church to remove graffiti on buildings, light poles, roll down grates and mailboxes. It was a two-week effort. I LOVE this project, since graffiti on all that street furniture really bugs me. It just adds to the noise.
