TIS THE SEASON
Being in Rag & Bone made me think of the Bubble Lounge, which made me think of making gingerbread houses there with Church Street School, which reminded me that the last time I was there I knocked my house off the table and had to try to glue the whole thing back together from a hundred pieces. Long way of saying: it’s that time of year again, when Church Street School sells its homemade gingerbread house decorating kits as a fundraiser. It’s kind of a perfect pod event. Email gb@churchstreetschool.org for info, or order here.

LILAC HEADED BACK TO PIER 25
The Lilac, the ship docked on the north side of Pier 25, left Tribeca last week for winter repair and storage, but plans changed and it will return today at 11:30 if you want to catch the action. It turns out the ship could not dock where planned since the boatyard could not provide shore power. The plan was to store it on Staten Island where students from the Webb Institute would assess what it would take to get the ship running again. They did get some debris off the ship and left the propellers in a “propeller garden” until they can be repaired and replaced at a future date.
