GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY
The Battery will open its application period for first-time volunteers in February and the 2021 season will begin in March. To sign up, fill out a registration form at https://www.thebattery.org/volunteer/ Once registered you can complete the online volunteer orientation video and sign up for your first shift. Shifts are available Monday-Saturday 9:30a to 12:00p and opportunities include gardening, working on the Battery Urban Farm, and being a greeter and tour guide. Questions: volunteer@thebattery.org

CB1 UPDATE ON CHINATOWN JAIL THIS WEEK
The Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit will update the CB1 Land Use Committee again on the Borough Based Jails Project on Thursday, Jan. 21, at 6:30p online.

DESIGN AWARD FOR GHISLAINE VINAS
Longtime Tribecan Ghislaine Viñas was named Interior Design Magazine’s Residential Interior Designer of the Year. She’s done tons of apartments around here, many of which were on the Duane Park Loft Tour over the years. Her husband and business partner Jaime Viñas also did the graphic design for PS 234 and Washington Market Park for free for more than a decade.

BLOOD DRIVE IN BPC TODAY
